Imane Anys better known by her internet moniker Pokimane (/poːkimeɪn/, Moroccan for “pokerfaced”), is a Moroccan-Canadian Internet celebrity. Anys is a YouTuber who rose to prominence for her live streams on Twitch, where she publishes video game material, particularly in League of Legends and Fortnite. She’s a member of OfflineTV, an internet social entertainment community that consists of content producers.
Pokimane Biography
Anys created her Twitch account in June 2013. She began streaming in late 2013, using a $250 PC she bought on the classifieds website after achieving Platinum status in League of Legends. On several occasions, Anys has streamed Fortnite gameplay and commentary as part of a sponsorship. Epic Games held a pro-am event at E3 in 2018. Popular personalities teamed up with streamers for an event in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode; Anys was partnered with Desiigner, but he was replaced by Josh Hart just before it began.
Anys stated that she needed to “reflect on what I enjoy or dislike about the material I’ve been creating.” In mid-March 2019, she announced that she had stopped producing Fortnite content.
She won Best Twitch Streamer at the Shorty Awards in 2017 due to the popularity of her account on the site.
