She spent her childhood in Athens, where she went to an English school. She subsequently attended the National State School of Dance. She trained in the UK as a dancer and studied at the University of Winchester and the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds after moving to Great Britain. She obtained additional acting training at the London School of Dramatic Art.

In 2011, she made her feature film debut in Room to Forget, a short. She is also known in the German-speaking world for her work as a historical drama, The Borgias. She has also appeared in a television program about Rosamunde Pilcher and reprised her role in The Other Wife. She appeared in the American film Guardians of the Galaxy, where she played Bereet.She is best known for her role as Bathsheba in the History Channel miniseries The Bible (2013). She played Daliyah Al-Yazbek on FX’s Tyrant from 2015 to 2016. From 2015 through 2016, she was seen in the recurring capacity of Dalia Al-Yazbek on FX’s Tyrant.

In February 2018, Kreiling was cast in the CBS summer series Salvation as Alycia.
